HOMEMADE APPLE & PEAR CRUMBLE

I absolute love cooking in the kitchen and creating new recipes from scratch!

Being pregnant is challenging at times especially when those sweet tooth cravings kick in and you just feel like going all out unhealthy and not caring. Although I believe in the whole "balance is key" lifestyle I also know that indulging in the processed, refined and unhealthy foods honestly makes me feel even worse than how I was prior to my cravings. So making yummy food that is still healthy but cures those cravings is what I really do try to encourage!

This recipe I am afraid to say has no set ingredients, its a tester and I did say id share this recipe so here are all the yummy ingredients I put together a long with a rough method!

This is even better with whipped up fresh cream on the side and make sure that crumble is warm! It tastes delish!

This is great for a breakfast meal or dessert meal!

Ingredients:

BASE: (rough estimates)

2X pink lady apples, peeled and thinly sliced

2X pears, peeled and thinly sliced

3T farm made fresh honey

1T maple syrup

2tsp organic grounded cinnamon 1 cup water

TOPPINGS:

3 cups low refined sugar muesli with added nuts (I used the Jordans brand, in a light blue covering)

3T melted butter

1tsp cinnamon

Method:

1. Prepare the base ingredients.

2. Place the fruit evenly spread out on a oven proof baking dish, I layered the pear and apple.

3. Place the remainder base ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil, stir lots.

4. Pour the base liquid over the pear and apple pieces.

5. in a mixing bowl add the muesli, melt the butter and stir in together until well combined.

6. Evenly spread the muesli over the base and sprinkle with cinnamon

7. Place in oven at 180 degrees and allow to cook, cook until pear and apple slightly soft but still semi crunchy and the muesli has toasted.

TIPS:

I got spoon and tossed the muesli so it would toast evenly and not just burn on the one side.

You can also choose to create your own form of muesli so suit your tastebuds, I just did it a quick and easy less time efficient way.
